Dark, Sexy, Sinful, Out of this World Stars!!

Gabriella is in love, in love with a man of the Dark, a man that is not at all who she thought he was. Dorian Skotos was sent to do a job, a job in which he finds harder to complete than originally thought. The Dark isn't suppose to love, they aren't built to know how to but for Dorian he knows he is indeed in love with Gabriella Winters which makes what he was sent to do almost unbearable. As her 21st birthday quickly approaches Dorian has no choice but to complete his task but when confronted about his lies the truth of their feelings come out and throws his mission to the wind. He wants Gabs, and he will stop at nothing to get her.
But powers greater than them have other things in mind and will stop at nothing to tare Dorian and Gabs apart and with the unknown killer still unknown and still on the loose the obstacles that are thrown at them start to proof too much for their love. Hearts and broken, tears are shed and lives are changed forever. Old loves will blossom while new loves die. When Gabriella descends will she choose the Dark or will she choose the Light. I loved Dark Light and I couldn't wait to continue Gabriellas and Dorians story - I knew what I wanted to happen and boy was I shocked. In The Dark Prince there were twists and turns thrown into the story that had my head spinning and me wanting more. If having Dorian means going to the Dark side well consider me the first in line to join because that man is H-O-T and he can RUIN me whenever and wherever he sees fit. Her imagination knows no bounds and she has no limits. It amazes me how a person could dream or think of a story like this, it's very well written and the scenes are described to perfection so you can actually put yourself there in the book - as trust me I have done it on many scenes where I was Gabriella ...
I understand Gabriella and her struggles to love again and doing everything she can to mend her broken heart but Dorian will always and forever be her first love and we all know you never really get over your first love, they will always hold a piece of your heart. Jared is still the sexy boy next door and comes into save the day when Gabriella needs him and I found myself leaning towards TEAM JARED (I want to corrupt him). I did get a little frustrated with Dorian in this book - he was a very very bad boy and I put him in time out a few times but in the end he ended up redeeming himself so now I am like, S***..TEAM DORIAN? or TEAM JARED?...Ugh and than there is Niko (oh yes you too will fall in love with Niko too) So now I am at the point of TEAM DORIAN, TEAM JARED, and TEAM NIKO - I can share, my momma taught me how....(ymmmmm Dorian naked hovering over me, while Jared is nibbling my ear lobe, and Niko is rubbing my feet)

Okay back to my thoughts on The Dark Prince - basically it had it all: love, betrayal, heartache, suspense, murder, dark, light, raw, emotional, intense, sexy, steamy and HOLY HELL the hot men!!! I loved, loved, loved this book... I adore S.L. Jennings, her creative mind works wonders and she surely shows it in this series. She pulls you in from the very beginning and leaves you wanting more and more with every page you turn. This woman is a genius when she puts words onto paper and I am eagerly awaiting her next book. If you loved Dark Light than of course you will love The Dark Prince even more - Gabriella and Dorian's story was crazy before well it just got bat s*** crazy in The Dark Prince.

Darkly irritating!

As I wrote in my review of the Dark Light, this series had the makings for a really compelling story, and though it sorely needs better editing as grammar and punctuation errors abound throughout, and even though I really though the heroine Gabriella lacked intelligence (see my review of the Dark Light to learn why), the plot intrigued me enough to download the Dark Prince. I wish I had not.
What I couldn't do, and should of done with the Dark Light, I did here: GAVE UP! The Dark Prince was so poorly written, that I no longer was plot motivated. Nothing could compel to invest more of my time when I had to sludge through the following - read this small amount in its entirety and you will see what I mean:
Dorian's eyes are on my lips as he runs his fingers through my dark waves. "I never lied to you, little girl. I may have deceived you - and for that I am truly sorry - but I never lied I can't.
"What do you mean you can't?"
"Gabriella, I cannot lie. Ever. I was cursed, unable to ever deceive the Dark or anyone else, again. So when I tell you that I love you, that I could never hurt you, I mean it. I would gladly lay down my life for you, and that is the realest, truest thing I have ever felt."
First, deceiving is lying, but symantics aside - He says he "may have deceived", but then a paragraph later he says he is "unable to ever deceive the Dark or anyone else". Huh?
Bad writing aside, Gabriella's intelligence has actually lessened, which entirely surprised me as after reading the first book, I didn't think that was possible. When Gabriella learns what and who Dorian is, she still has no sense of self-preservation. She has known Dorian for a couple of weeks and that 'love' for him outweighs a person's natural desire to keep self out of not only situations that could harm, but ones that could kill? Doesn't seem plausible, but this is fiction, paranormal at that, so I will reluctantly buy it disregarding Gabriella's words several paragraphs before when she tells the reader "He is not longer my Dorian. The man I love is gone." ........but I am disappointed in Jennings as she just informed me, through Gabriella's eyes and own thoughts that Dorian isn't who or what she thought he was in the first place, so clearly during the few weeks Gabriella has known him, she really hasn't known him at all except physically, yet Gabriella is willing to play the ingenue? Doesn't jive at all with that tough, crass personality Jennings has been trying to portray (unsuccesfully I might add) Gabriella as. SIDE NOTE: Really getting tired of all the books that equate physical feelings as a deeply-seeded love connection.
Also, the thing about ultimate evil - I wouldn't imagine that it can turn on a dime. Jennings has Dorian manifest himself as his evil persona of swirling twirling mist in front of Gabriella, a monster form, that she encited then throughs a glass at, yet he is able to restrain himself while evil and become his human Dorian in one short paragraph? Really not buying it now. Authors note: it is completely acceptable for the heroine to get hurt and suffer pain. The bad guy that is deeply good, shouldn't always act good for the story to be believable. Even paranormal fictional romance needs to be believeable. A weighty endeavor, but necessary.
Do yourself a favor and don't be the stupid girl in the bad horror film - stay out of the dark unless you wish for a few of your brain cells to go missing by reading these book.

DORIAN HAS RUINED ME FOREVER!! DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STARS!

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this book. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this book deserves so much more!!! This book it hot and sexy but as also very deep and emotional. So many times it felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest and shoved back in through my stomach only to be removed again and shoved down my throat! It's such a roller coaster of emotions and steamy hotness I didn't want it to end! S.L Jennings is an AMAZING writer and she draws you in to the book and each scene and makes you feel you are there with the characters and you know them personally. I cannot say enough about her writing skills and what genius she is! She also incorporates alot of music in her stories. You know the song and you can associate the emotion that goes with it.
This is the 2nd book in the Dark Light Series involving 20 year old Gabriella who parents were supposed to be enemies that fell in love, one being from the dark and one being from the light. On Gabriella's 21st birthday she must choose to align with one... the dark or the light. The Dark Prince starts right where the Dark Light ends with Gabriella learning the secrets of her lover's past and who he really is. In this book we learn more about her lover, Dorian Skotos and his family. Dorian is so damn sexy that it makes your panties wet just by his smile! He and Gabriella declare their love for each other but when deals are made to protect Gabriella's family and friends their love is tested. Does true love prevail in the end? Can their love survive...
