The Best WICK Book Yet

I'm a big fan of Michael Bunker's WICK series. I've had the privilege of reading an early copy of WICK 3 Exodus and can't recommend it enough. WICK 3 is just an absolutely awesome read, period...end of sentence. As the series develops, it just keeps getting better and better. The newest installment picks up where the last one ended and is action packed, thought provoking and full of truth. I love how WICK 3 has real world, practical survival ideas woven into the story and the introduction of some great new characters. You won't be disappointed with this one, it will exceed your expectations and then some. Bring on WICK 4!

Fantastic, thought provoking must read book

After reading W1CK 1 and W1CK 2, I thought I was at the pinnacle of anticipation, until I read book 3, and this book skyrocketed anticipation to the next level. Michael Bunker weaves a wonderful story, building the characters and plot along the way in a way that will make you stop and think. This book will leave you breathlessly wanting more. We see the characters in books 1 and 2 develop in a way that makes you look at the overall picture of humanity and where we are heading. Michael does a good job of weaving in history and fictional events that will have you looking over your shoulder to be sure that is hasn't become reality.

In this book, we see travelers from WarWick begin to make there way in a country that is not there own. We also get to see other travelers along the way that have come to the realization that the country and life they once knew no longer exists, and there will be no returning to "normal". While this book still has the feel of W1CK, you start to feel The Last Pilgrims (another book by Michael that I highly recommend) beginning to take shape.

My favorite line from the book.

"We're firing the lot of 'em... both the criminals who corrupted capitalism and turned it into a private candy store, and the democratic socialists who want to steal everything and then run the world. Believe it or not, the fascists are are working with the communists. We're clearing the decks of the lot of 'em. We didn't start this war, but we saw it coming."

This is a great book that I would recommend to anyone. If you haven't read W1CK 1 and W1CK 2, what are you waiting for? Get reading.

Getting Better All the TIme

If you thought Wick1 and Wick2 were good you will greatly enjoy Wick3. What is good about Wick3, as it was with the others, is how not only are we drawn into the lives of the books characters but due to the timeliness of the situation they are in we get a sense of what is before them. There will be those that would dismiss all that is portrayed in the book as taking advantage of the fear that is around us today. However, it is hard not to see much of what is portrayed in the book as entirely possible when one just looks around at the world around us, especially in the US and europe. Also, if you look at history you see that when man gets to certain levels of reliance they are brought back down to reality so they can see where their true reliance is to be placed, or better yet who it is to be placed on. Man so often thinks he has progressed to some level that makes him self-reliant and some how better than those before us but as the Wick series reveals we as a people are greatly mistaken if we think this way. We are so relient on the world systems we live in that it will simply take the turning off of a few gadgets and we, as the story revelas, will turn into what we somehow think we have moved away from and fall into the barbarism and helplessness that is portrayed in the book.

I would add that it is interesting to see how much of what Michael Bunker wrote in his book Surviving Off Off-Grid: Decolonizing the Industrial Mind is filtered in and through the Wick Series, as it was in The Last Pilgrims. If you have read "The Last Pilgrims" you will begin to see more progress towards where that book begins and if you have not read you will definitely want to after you finish the Wick Series.

I will warn you that you will be left wanting to read the next installment of the Wick Series to see what happens next. A sign of a good series is that you are left with the desire to read more and that is what you will be left with in Wick3.
